What is FILO system?
FILO system is a minimally invasive approach to dental implantation. It is efficiency-oriented and helps you obtain safer results in all kinds of clinical cases by making the procedures simpler and shorter in time. FILO is based on three technical principles:
1) Flapless surgery by direct transgingival drilling;
2) Immediate loading;
3) The use of one-piece dental implants.
Dr. Bastida has added two very advanced techniques; flapless pterygoid implantation with an original CBCT planning, and flapless approach sinus elevation technique. All these elements are closely related to each other and define the FILO SYSTEM.
Why use FILO system?
Usual implantology is based on three technical principles:
1) Flap surgery – exposing the bone;
2) Delay the loading of dental implants;
3) And the use of two-piece dental implants.
This approach works very well, but the FILO system is a very efficient alternative that obtains good results while avoiding several problems. Because FILO is based on flapless surgery, without using a scalpel, so postoperative period is very good, also immediate loading stimulates fast healing, and the use of one-piece dental implants helps us to avoid annoying problems caused by the connection and little screws, screwdrivers, hollow pieces, and overcomplicated prosthesis.
These are the main reasons to prefer the FILO system over the usual approach.
How to start using FILO?
We can offer you a very intensive two-days course about the FILO system, the participants can learn the whole theory of using this system step-by-step, from the beginner level to the advanced level, hands-on with jaw models, and then immediately see this theory applied in real live surgery, so that you could ask any questions and have a total understanding of how the FILO system works and how to apply it in your daily practice.
